2012: Year of Awakening

This is the year to step away from all the negative messages within the media* and the collective consciousness that have to do with fear, scarcity, suffering, loss, and the end of the world. This is a time of change and transition, of awakening to our greater potential as human beings, but it is NOT the end of the world. It is merely the end of one way of being on Planet Earth and the beginning of a new way of being, one centered in trust, abundance, joy, sharing, and oneness. We are living the transition between those two ways of being.

Transitions can be edgy and challenging, but they also can be filled with new energy and inspiration. It is up to us to define how we choose to go into this new age before us. For my part, I don’t want to go forward kicking and screaming and crying about what has been lost; I want to dance into the new energies full of gratitude and appreciation for the blessings and abundance of each day as it unfolds. And isn’t the sun rising each morning a blessing? Isn’t the very act of breathing a miracle of abundance? The more we look around with an eye for the positive aspects of each moment, the more we see. Trees, flowers, grass, birds; friends, family; music, dance, song; shared laughter, shared love…. There are an infinite number of possibilities for wonder in each individual life. Choose one wonder each morning, however small and seemingly insignificant. Let it carry you through the day. The more you focus on it, the more it will grow, expand, and spark recognition of other wonders in your life.

So take a deep breath, smile, and look out through your eyes as if you had never seen the world before. What tiny miracles are you overlooking in your daily life? Find them. Celebrate them. And watch the wonders multiply.

  1. YES! Bring on the new year..with joy, anticipation, love, friendship, caring, sharing! You’re so right, Peggy.

This morning I was sitting quietly in the pre-dawn hours practicing the “smiling meditation” taught by Montak Chia. All you do is sit quietly and smile at your self….feel a smile inside. I was doing that when all of a sudden I saw a flicker of light and then a very strong and steady blue flame appeared. For me,it signifies going forth on this ever changing journey with strength, Light, and the conviction of knowing that all is well. We are so cared for and when I stop to smell the roses, I bow humbly in deep gratitude. There is such a compassionate river moving us thru life. It blows me away……. Happy New Year!

  2. Beautiful post Peggy! It is so refreshing to read someone saying that 2012 does NOT represent the end of the world coming. 🙂 And thank you for the reminders to be grateful for all that is. . .

    Blessings and Love to you!
